Who is Bearwood Action for Refugees?

Bearwood Action for Refugees was started by a small group of local Bearwood Residents who were dismayed by the plight of Syrian Refugees. Over the past 12 months, they have done a number of events to raise funds for Leros Solidarity Network who support refugees on this Greek island. On the 1st of October, they are planning a Procession of Light through Warley Woods (see flyer below). This Saturday, you can learn more about the work Bearwood Action for Refugees are doing and buy a tote bag to support their work.

You can also make a lantern at the Lantern Workshop that is happening tomorrow (12pm and 2pm) for the procession of light. The workshop is in a room in the church beyond the kitchen, but it will be signposted. The group is asking for a suggested donation for the lanterns.

What can you expect?

  • Lots of information about how you can get involved
  • Buy a tote bag (to take all your goodies home! Genius)
  • Make a lantern

The Crafty Pantry Food Festival takes place in Bearwood on 17th September 2016 from 11 am to 4 pm at Bearwood Baptist Church, Rawlings Road cnr Bearwood Road and surrounding area. Stalls inside and out.
